A digital interactive projection based version of magnetic fridge poetry. Urban Poetry uses the landscape of New York as the material and palette, each 'magnet' was taken from an advertisement, street art or sign in Manhattan. We then wrote a processing program which would project the system onto billboards or buildings allowing users to manipulate and create prose. The purpose of the piece was an exercise in the exploration of different ways we can recontextualize the inundation of text encountered everyday, utilizing interactive technology to combine dynamic dimensions with established forms of expression in pop culture.

Urban Poetry was created in collaboration with Hatti Lim. A video explanation can be seen here.
